Dennis Basso coat-dry clean only-has anyone ever tried washing?

I am just curious. The materials all seem to be washable to me. Why are they all dry clean only?

  • Coat: shell face 70% acrylic/30% modacrylic; backing/lining 100% polyester

Has anyone tried washing their Dennis Basso coat with Woolite on the gentle cycle and hanging to dry? I am just curious if it would work and if anyone has tried it.
