Is it just me or have the prices for D&Co increased tremendously?  What especially got me thinking about this was a comment I heard over the weekend when Anybody was being discussed.

The host carried on and on about how QVC lines such as D&Co, Zuda, Anybody, Canyon Retreat etc. was able to offer such incredible prices because they're house brands with no middlemen and money spent on advertising.

If this is the case, I don't understand why then are these brands prices basically the same as Isaac, PLW etc?  I'm just really disappointed in the mixed messaging that's being sent.  I mean, either they can keep prices low because they own them and buy so much or clearly they're choosing not to.

This really is disappointing to me and plainly doesn't make sense.  I've been a QVC shopper for many years and always felt they were doing right by the customers price wise until the last few years.  This isn't an inflation issue either.  Either owning the brands, buying in bulk and no advertising dollars spent is reflective to the customer or not.😔

@cheriere  I totally agree. Of course, there will be those who say "everything has gone up". Granted. But for me, the quality of Denim & Co. has gone down, while the prices are too high for that quality. The clothes are so/so in styling. I used to love Issac's clothes, but the styles lately are not anything I would ever wear.

@cheriere Well it's been said a lot and true...Yes, and that EVERYthing has "increased tremendously."

I've been shopping for clothing (don't need much) very selectively, and intentionally, for what I might need updated or replaced in my wardrobe. Have looked for bargains, sales, while still wanting quality...and have found things. I've also gone back to small boutique shops in my area, and when traveling...I want to see, try, touch, and support small businesses, as well as get the small biz service and experience.

Also, had a recent bout with "returns" for online "trys" that failed, and got up to $40.00 in return fees for about 5 items. No more. Cost prohibitive, and honestly, I'm just tired of trying so hard to "nail a size" online. Since, I still can shop B&M, that's where I'm spending my money, unless I really know a brand/sizing online....OR...they make it easy and free for me to try/return!

Ok, phew, rant over. Smiley Happy

I think it is ridiculous when they say they cut out the middle man.  If they cut out the middle man, then we would be buying directly from China.  QVC IS THE MIDDLEMAN.  I visited QVC  years ago.  The place is huge.  I can not even image the money needed to run that place from the utility bills, property taxes, and all the staff there, including big host salaries.  Plus there are the warehouses to maintain.  I am sure the overhead is huge.  So I am not really surprised about the prices they charge.

What does kind of bug me is their "comparative retail price."  While in the area, I also went to the King of Prussia mall.  It is very upscale, and I know that is the mall they sometimes refer to.  They must go into the most expensive store there and find the most expensive designer to find a price of a similar item.  If they went to Walmart or Target, that would be more inline with the quality of Denim and Co. items.

@cheriere I also agree with you.   I don't know if it's me or the current styles now but I don't seem to like much anymore.  The prices are out of control, especially Isaac's line.  D&C looks frumpy to me and the so called sale prices are a joke.  I like more lines on HSN and the coupons and free shipping are a much better deal.  Chico's also has some great sales at times, I've bought items at 75%off on their website always with free shipping.  Granted sometimes they are final sale but I always read reveiws and pretty much know my size with them.

Re: Denim & Company Prices

@Effie54    @LindaSal     I agree about the quality having gone way down too.  Yes, there might be some that say everything has gone up in price. While that's true, their house brand prices should still be much lower.   Plus, it's hard for that argument to hold whenever item's similar or better quality at a store still costs less.  I love QVC and am so disappointed that they don't expect their loyal customers to notice this and care enough to keep them loyal. 😔

Puppy Love, I totally agree. I always thought of Denim & Co. as budget type clothing, basic no frills fashion. Now I am amazed at their pricing  way up there. Don't really buy much Denim&Co. anymore.

I have noticed that sometimes, over & over Gary states they now have a "new" manufacturer.  As if that explains the "high" prices.

Count me in too. Paying $50, $60 + for an everyday top is ridiculous.  I've been finding cute tops at Costco for $15!

Watched D & Co this a.m.---and wow--prices are really high. I remember when you could buy 2 tops and  a pair of pants for $50--now the hosts on TV squeal at a sale price of $50!!!
