I agree with a lot of what posters have mentioned as indicators of quality. Construction is the "biggie" for me. If it looks poorly sewn it probably won't hold up or drape correctly on the body. I have never received a Q garment that looked poorly sewn. I like that I can see sewing details close up in a good presentation on air or online. I also prefer more substantial fabrics. Very flimsy fabrics don't usually hold up to wearing and washing.

"How the garment is constructed" Truly the deciding factor on whether or not I keep or buy a piece of clothing. I bought a beautiful jacket two years ago, a Belle Boho item. It is lovely, and one that I always get compliments on when I wear it-which is not often because the lining always hangs out of the sleeves, it is poorly made. So I spoke to my seamstress and she is going to repair it before I wear it again in the fall. I should have returned it, this is the only piece of 'Belle' clothing I have kept.

Quality to me is good construction and good fabrics.
Most of what I've purchased from the Q has been good quality, but I remember 3 items that were not. Considering I've purchased hundreds of Q clothes over the past 30 years, that's pretty good. Maybe that's why I remember these so well?
Many years ago I received a Bob Mackie blouse that had buttonholes but no buttons on the cuffs. There was a tee from the early days of Isaac Mizrahi that felt like rubber amd shrank to a kiddie size after washing even though I followed the care instructions on the tag.The last item was a D & Co. sweater dress purchased a couple years ago. The fabric pilled and looked old and worn after one wearing.
I've bought clothing from lots of stores other than the Q. I don't think you have to pay lots of money for quality, but I do think there's a lot of disposable cheap fast fashion out there. IMO it's easier to shop for quality in person when you can see the sewing and fabric in person.

@Goldengate8361 wrote:I have always found most all QVC clothing brands to be significantly better quality than anything at Walmart or Target. Some of the best made Q brands are, in my opinion, Susan Graver, Stacy London, Isaac, D&C, and Dennis Basso. There is nothing necessarily low quality about a human made fabric (polyester, spandex). Insisting on all natural fabrics is (again, in my opinion) is a really old-fashioned idea (cool in the 80s). Virtually all modern designers use non-natural fabrics today. I would never prefer anything 100% cotton, for example. So, negative comments about Q being lesser in quality because of fabric choices seems very ill-informed, in my opinion.
Love your post @Goldengate8361 and couldn't agree with you more.
I've never had any quality issues with clothing I've purchased from the Q, so I continue to shop here.

Similar case with quality. I know it when I see it.
When it comes to fabric/materials, I know it when I feel it.

Well...good fit, good details, natural fabrics. But even some of the man-made fabric items I'm ok with. As someone else posted here...they've come a long way, and just about every mfr, high-end or not, is using them.
I'm selective....I find Q's quality is fine in most everything I buy. I'm loving the ME by Jennie Garth line. I've bought 4 items, 3 pants, 1 top, so far, loved them all, all fit me true to my normal size. I not only love the style of clothing she brings, which is more romantic, feminine, youthful but not babyish...and not like everrrrrry otherrrr QVC line, which tend to be similar, KG, SG, D&C.
But, I also buy from D&C, always happy with it...find the quality fine. I just got the LOGO pull-on, patchwork denim, boyfriends and had them on today to go out to lunch in (with a pretty top from ME)...I could not be more pleased with those LOGO jeans...fit, feel, style, so great. Wore with a Louis Dell'Olio navy blazer from years ago...got compliments on the outfit.
So...I see the complaints here at times about Q's quality "going downhill", but I'm usually very happy with clothing I get from QVC. But it's those lines I mentioned I mostly stick to lately. QF, KG, SG not my thing (I used to wear some SG, as did my mom, and was always pleased with most of those too.) I have bought also from Cuddle Duds, (sundresses) Muk Luks (pjs, rompers) and been happy with those too.

Same here.
And frankly better than things from Amazon. I've bought things from Amazon too I like, but not a lot, and it's always more of a "fast fashion" "quality" to those pieces.

Patterns that line up when sewn together. Fabric that does not Pill after a few washings. Seams that do not come apart. Elastic waistbands that do not twist.
Just a few things that make a quality garment along with what others have posted.
Reasons why I do not purchase clothes from qvc.

I define quality as the items the Q sold years ago. I was always pleased and have many of those garments to this day.
I order very little clothing now and the last three things I have ordered, I was unhappy with and have not worn.
