Re: DO YOU CARE ABOUT ALL THIS ""RED CARPET"" STUFF ... OR FIND IT BORING?

I find it all very boring, and QVC does NOT fit in there, AT ALL.

I don't even watch the real Red Carpet, never mind the Q's. I'm not really into all these Hollywood stars and what they wear. I know many women look forward to it and hope you enjoy. I do enjoy a good movie though.

I totally agree -- feeds the ego of some the QVC hosts. Just helps them feel like they are the "celebrities" they seem to think they are -- what a joke, in my opinion. I also agree with the boring posts -- I have absolutely NO interest in these types of QVC shows.

Will Kermit be accompanying the Q host?

It is kind of silly, but so is the whole award show idea really. I like to watch the pre-show fashion and to listen to what they say when they win, but somehow the whole thing seems somewhat disingenuous.

I watch the real red carpets and award shows to see what they're wearing but not the Q's. I'm embarrassed for them.

Re: DO YOU CARE ABOUT ALL THIS ""RED CARPET"" STUFF ... OR FIND IT BORING?

originally, the Oscars, as with other entertainment award shows, had a primary focus of honoring performance and talent from among the acting community. This "Red Carpet" hype is soooo wrong. I particularly do not like the phrase "Who are you wearing ?" Literally, that means there is a person on an actor/actress's back.

I know the designers like the publicity/ In the past, only one or two "announcers/hosts " would broadcast from the Red Carpeted entrance to the awards ceremony.

This is not a "dig" to changing times...it's that "changing times" have now shown little respect for an actor/actress performance.....

I think it might be fun if Q showed us something unique but adaptable. For example - a wearable dress or top in the top Red Carpet color or a trendy piece of jewelry to incorporate into everyday looks. Or, even Oscar nominated movie inspired clothing.

OMG, kittymom, that is too cute. Something about denim & co on the red carpet just doesn't work for me so I won't be watching the Q.
