Yes!  Boring and too young.  I think that once again they are forgetting the older crowd.  Even the makeup kits are yawn worthy.  They used to have great handbags in the catalog.  I know there will be more goodies online and I really hope the merchandise will be better than the last two years.

I agree with OP. I thought the same thing-- the booties were the only items that interested me. They usually have beautiful handbags, leather jackets,  sweaters and tops, but not this year, IMO... Money saved, lol.

I've bought less and less the past probably 5-6 years.  My presale appt is Thursday at noon for shoes, 2 for cosmetics and undies after that!  No need to even look at clothing, our store has really poor choices in the clothing area and has for years!  I need new workout shoes and the undie stuff, but bet I spend under 600$ total.

I did see some cute booties.  I may or may not get them.  I'll have to see them on.  I'm kind of glad that I didn't see a lot as I don't need to spend the money now.

HBglamma, there is a lot of truth in your thoughts.  The operators of retail stores and manufacturers who supply them are constantly looking for ways to sell merchandise without reducing the prices. Running a well promoted sale to lure customers into a store is one.  Offering less sale merchandise during such events is intentional.  The goal being once the customers are amped up for shopping, and in the door, they will probably buy something anyway -- even if they are paying full price.

NO bonus points this year?  I really may rethink any cosmetics and just do the running shoes on sale and a bra and a few pair of undies!  My bonus points used to add up at this sale!
