Depends on the quality one buys.

My Susan Graver faux leather, I've owned for over 10 years, so far, no cracking , peeling or fading.

Then price ($70+) for this Denim and Frumpany jacket is RIDICULOUS.

Genuine leather is breathable and can absorb moisture, while faux leather is less breathable and can promote sweating.

The OP wasn't asking for anyone's opinion on real leather vs. faux leather.  She was asking about sizing.  She stated she intends to purchase the jacket but is unsure what size to order.
