I usually wear trousers socks or sheer knee highs with dress trousers and my high heeled loafers or pumps. Depends on the season, weather, and color of my shoes.

 

If I'm wearing sandals or ballet flats I go without socks and hose, because I don't like the look of those kinds of footwear with socks or hose.

 

With casual pants and jeans I wear either crew or trouser socks, or no socks. Depends on the season, weather, and footwear choice.
