We have been on several Celebrity cruises.  I believe they have a couple of "formal" nights depending on how long the cruise is.  I just wore black pants and a dressy top.  Husband wore a sports jacket and tie.  Not sure if that's changed or not.  Check with the cruise line or your travel agent.

BTW--Trust me--nobody notices or cares what you're wearing!!!

@TurnerGal  Kind of depends on where you're going.  Alaska is quite different from the Caribbean.

@TurnerGal, can't help you as I have never been on a cruise. But, I hope you and your husband have a wonderful time. You have dealt with a lot and have earned some well deserved rest and relaxation. Wishing you good health and a beautiful vacation.

Re: Cruise Wear recommendations?

2019 was my last cruise-pre-Pandemic, of course.  Just as in most of our popular culture, people dress in a less formal, more comfortable way everywhere these days.  Check which events you want to attend, but honestly, you probably will wear casual clothes almost all the time.  Maybe each of you could pack one more "formal" outfit, for a special event.  Don't overthink it though. Be relaxed, be comfortable and enjoy your special time on your cruise.

Re: Cruise Wear recommendations?

Honestly, wear what you feel comfortable with. I am attaching their dress code from their website. Sure - you may see some people in tux’s and evening gowns (more so in Europe), but it’s not required. If you husband balks at wearing a jacket, he would be fine in a polo or button down shirt. Nobody will care or kick you out. The fact that you care enough to ask leads me to believe you would never be “sloppy”, so not going to comment on that! I would just not recommend shorts in the dining room on Evening Chic nights (although there is still a possibility you will see that - not 100% sure if Celebrity would say anything.)

HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!

Onboard Dress Code
What is the onboard dress code?

Formal Night gets a modern reboot. Say goodbye to Formal Night, and hello to Evening Chic. It’s your time to shine—your way. Get glamorous. Get chic. Be sophisticated. Now, on up to two nights on every cruise, Evening Chic activities have been introduced, and Evening Chic attire has replaced Formal attire. While dressier than Smart Casual, Evening Chic is intended to be less dressy than Formal attire.

Women should feel comfortable wearing:

A cocktail dress
Skirt, pants or designer jeans with an elegant top
Men should feel comfortable wearing:

Pants or designer jeans with a dress shirt, button-down shirt or sweater
Optional sport coat or blazer
Evening Chic means that you can get glamorous and be sophisticated in your own way. If you would like to still wear a tuxedo or formal gown on Evening Chic nights, you absolutely should.

All cruises that are 7 nights or longer will feature two Evening Chic nights. Any cruise 6-nights or shorter will feature one Evening Chic night. All other nights of the cruise will feature Smart Casual attire. Celebrity Xpedition will continue to feature casual attire for the entire cruise.

Smart Casual attire can be enjoyed every other night of your cruise.

Women should feel comfortable wearing:

Skirt, pants or jeans with a casual top
Men should feel comfortable wearing:

Pants or jeans with a short sleeve sport shirt.
Note: T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurant at any time. Shorts and flip-flops are not allowed in the evening hours. The dress code will be enforced at all restaurants. And guests are asked to follow the Smart Casual or Evening Chic dress code in the Celebrity Theater for all evening performances. The daily program, delivered to your stateroom and available at the Guest Relations Desk, will be your guide to the correct attire.

Re: Cruise Wear recommendations?

@TurnerGal  Google "The only Cruise Packing List" by Elissa Garay.

I assume its a Caribean Cruise, If its 7 days there is one Chic night & 10 days 2. I also suggest to bring mix & match with some outfits.

On Chic nights its dress up time otherwise casual wear. Years ago every night was dress up!

Enjoy your Cruise on that Premier Ship & wishing the both of you good health!

Re: Cruise Wear recommendations?

We cruise Carnival mostly because it's the closest port.  I still see some women in evening gowns and men in tuxes but lots of people in "church" or "sunday best" clothing.

They would prefer you not wear jeans but would rather have you attend dinner as  "you paid for it" (per our waiter when my BF realized he forgot to pack his dress pants.  The only time I actually saw a passenger be denied entrance to the dining room on a formal night was when he showed up wearing shorts.  Much more flexible than years ago.  I'm sure you will be fine.
