It's all about the details.  The more specific you can be in the search terms, the easier it is to find.  I spent an hour last week helping a viewer to find C.C.'s (elusive) dress, and that person never returned to the thread.  

I try to add a picture when I respond, so that if the item is sold out (or too expensive), the OP can search the image to find "visually similar images" that might yield similar finds.

There are probably DIY Pinterest fails for them, LOL.  Can you imagine? Spray painting your old golf shoes? Using a craft knife to make the cut outs?  Permanent marker to make a black sole?
