The pants are a black corduroy thin whale. The shirt is dark green with a small dot print and also a thin corduroy . Would you wear these together?😏

No never.  Texture is as important as color when it comes to what goes together. This will look like you just missed, is too matchy-matchy but missed.

Yes, black and dark green look good together and the small dot print on top will give variety to the solid color pants.

A rule that has served me well for decades:  if I have to ask, then I don't proceed.

In a clothing store, when I am questioning how do these colors, this style, etc work for me, I know the answer: forget about it !  I stop trying to push for it to work.

Hmmm... I thought it was called "cowboy tuxedo" - doesn't matter.... But I wear jeans and denim jackets together a lot.

Wear what you want and what makes YOU feel good.

Yes, I would wear a corduroy top and bottom together.  Why not?  Add a blazer or coat made from different fabric, leather or suede shoes, leather belt.  

I would not wear black and dark green with polka dots together, though.
