Did you used to wear corduroy Bermuda shorts in the fall?

Every fall when I was in junior high, my mom took me shopping for corduroy Bermuda shorts. They were usually navy, brown, harvest gold, or burgundy. I wore them with a crew neck sweater, matching knee socks, & penny loafers.

Or, what about wool Bermuda shorts?

There was such a short window for corduroy or wool shorts where I grew up; only September - November. By December, the snow was flying but it was kind of fun to wear those shorts in fall.

Did you wear them?

In the 90's I wore that look on the weekend a lot.  I had coordinating blazers/jackets for them and  wore them for casual dates and dining.  Wore oxfords or loafers with them most of the time.   We danced to beach (shag) music and that was a standard outfit for that crowd.  I was very in shape and thin.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.

In December 1990 I was wearing shorts and an oversized blazer the night I met my husband at a singles weekend

I've always liked that look / style!

Something maybe Isaac M. might think about designing and offering at the Q ....

I never heard of these.

Never wore them.  When I was school age we had to wear dresses.  First they were shirtwaist dresses then later in the 60s we wore mini skirts.

When we were finally allowed to wear pants in school, it was jeans and only jeans that I wore for many years both in school and at home.  For work it was a nice dress or slacks.

Sounds like such a cute outfit, with preppy vibes.

I wore wool shorts in high school to football games.

I remember two pairs that I really loved.  One pair was a plum color that I wore with a lighter plum turtleneck sweater, knee highs and loafers.  The second pair was wool plaid...browns, gold and orange set off with blue.  I wore them with a v neck brown sweater with a baby blue turtleneck under...knees highs and loafers.

I always liked that look, but wouldn't wear them today.  They wouldn't look so cute on me anymore.

Re: Corduroy Bermuda Shorts

In h.s. I switched it up, wearing preppy, surfer, Mary Quant/Carnaby St. looks. I sewed most of it. Loved madras and corduroy. Favorite sweaters were mohair cableknit cardigans and ribbed poorboys. Shoes--Bass Weejuns, kitten heels, pointy toe flats and Indian leather toe ring sandals. Aigner purse, only had one, wore it to death.
