I lived in LA for a couple of years ... didn't care for the "vibes" there!

🤨

Is this a complaint about QVC, Madison Ave or Los Angeles?

It's getting hard to sort out all the b'in and moanin'.

🙄😁

Not a complaint at all .... simply an observation that QVC has changed its focus.

LA cool has replaced Madison Avenue / Hamptons chic at QVC.

@ALRATIBA, that's not really the entirety of your post.

@suzyQ3

True ... but I'd be banned for life if I wrote out the details of my real feelings about the LA "vibes."

@suzyQ3

The first time my friends and I went to L.A. (in our teens) we were mesmerized, astonished, delighted that traffic had to stop for pedestrians no matter what.  Actually, it was crosswalks without lights.  We kept running into the middle of the street to test it out. It was like magic.😆

I assume it's different now and laws have changed to take idiots like us into account.🤔😆

I have definitely noticed the switch from

“NY chic/Hamptons” to LA cool vibe” in fashion presentations. Just their latest sales pitch idea, I guess.

Never been to LA. Everywhere has its positives & negatives.

Well you're either a West coast person or an West coast person. Seems everyone has a choice. West here. Unfortunately born in the Midwest.

West coast girl and I love it ... everything about the west coast, from the weather, to the ocean beaches, mountains, polite citizens, casual lifestyles, etc etc. I've been lucky enough to travel in my job to a lot of different places and you can find great people everywhere. I like that I live in a multicuturally diverse area. So much creativity can come from people who think differently, all working together. Makes for great clothing, great food and fabulous neighbors.

There are just different "paces" in different places and I like the medium pace of the west. I don't think I would be comfortable in say NYC for any length of time and a slow pace kind of bugs me.

As for fashion, I like not having to wear a heavy coat and mittens, don't want to have to wear heels anymore and if I could, I would wear open toe shoes whenever I wasn't running.

Stereotypes are a very bad thing. Unfair and divisive and worse.

Stereotyping and acknowledging cultural differences aren't the same.

NYC and L.A. have different cultures. It's a fact.

NYC is fast and is a walking, 24-hour city.

My experiences in Southern California (L.A., San Diego -- I know they're not the same city, but, these 2 cities are where I've spent considerable time) is that the pace is much slower, it's a driving culture and most restaurants and activities end earlier.

Neither one is better or worse, just different. And, we, each, have our preferences.
