Continuing the topic of fashion on a budget

I wandered around TJMaxx today to see if I could spot any great fashion deals. Maybe it's just me... I literally never find anything I like there. Ever. Nothing is my style. Either too frilly or cut to be very tight fitting, or teen looking, or poorly constructed, or cheesy fabric, etc. I really do look. And I am not a snob, far from it. Same at Ross and Marshall's. I do much better with the sales at Beals. Walmart sometimes has some nice clothes for cheap, and they are sure displayed better than the packed-in, falling off the hangers, wrinkled messes at the stores I mentioned.

I never shop those stores, either. For all the reasons you mentioned.

Not to mention my time + gas.

I like going to Marshalls.  We have a very nice, neat store a 10 minute walk from our condo but except for pjs I haven't bought any clothing there.   Do  like to shop their home goods.

For reasonably priced clothing my go-tos are Macy's, Blair, HSN and Lands End.

Re: Continuing the topic of fashion on a budget

I have scored good deals at Walmart on occasion, and LOVE❤ their year end clearance sales, but I have found some unique treasures at Ross, T.J.Maxx, and Marshall's.❤ It is like treasure hunting!😂 I have not been in either store with the exception of Walmart in over a year, as I am budgeting, and truly do not have the need.🥰

You are SO right about the condition of many items at those stores; particularly clothing and bedding!👍 It is sometimes a turn-off, but being the budget shopper that I am, I will sometimes brave the "mess" in search of that elusive, name brand, greatly reduced treasure of excellent quality!😁

I went to Kohls to exchange 2 pairs of shorts that were a bit to tight. I came away with 4 shorts, 1 shirt and a pair of pajamas. I only go the Kohls a few times a year. Otherwise if I go more often I find nothing. As for Ross and Marshals and Nordstrom Rack I never find much. Most of the stuff is for teenagers about a size xxxxxx small. I haven't bought from them in decades. Costco, Kohls and Walmart and LLBean are my go to's.

I occasionally find something at Marshalls but usually shop Ebay.  I get Laurie Felt, KG, Peace Love World, & Side Stitch. Each under $20.

@smoochy

You know what's worse than going to Marshall's or T J Maxx and finding nothing?    Having a GIFT CARD from those stores and not being able to find anything.

I think I've had that gift card in my wallet for a few years and wonder how many years longer it'll take before I find something I really want.  LOL
