Wow- what is going on with the longer dresses- Democracy 365- lumpy,dumpy and frumpy.  If you want to look "over 50" try some of them. Ugly prints, flounces, and droopy balloon sleeves for  expensive prices.  Even Isaac has fallen into the trap- a long duster with a big flouncy hem.  No one looked good in these. There are of course other brands with the same ugliness.  I am well over 50 and would never wear these designs or pay plenty to look this awful.  Just sayin people- if you like these looks enjoy!

I don't "get" the appeal of those long dusters over pants?? skirts, dresses, whatever.  ShopHQ features them quite frequently and I agree most of them are ugly.  I would have no idea where to wear such an item with so much material floating around.

To each his own!

The dresses are more of a country  / suburban look (see Little House ....  / Gone with the Wind) .... not the sort of thing I would wear around NYC.

ETA:  trying to imagine up and down subway stairs in one of those dresses.

At 5 feet tall, long dusters would look like a bathrobe on me

I like the duster look with full length pants. One would need to choose wisely. I think it looks unbalanced with some of the shorter pants. I would wear it to dinner, but not shopping for groceries. It may wrinkle while seated.

The receptionist at the dentist office had one over a knee length dress. It was an interesting look as she walked past. I like it because it makes an entrance. Once upon a time that was my primary objective in any clothes I chose. Today, it is beach pants to wear on the front porch. Time marches on.

@32degrees

There do seem to be a lot of midi and maxi length dresses out there. The longer lengths have been trending for a few years now. Some of the prints give me beach, hippie, prairie, or nightgown vibes which I'd rather avoid. I have tried on a few midi length dresses in stores, but I haven't found one I want to buy.

I prefer knee length dresses myself. I just did a search of knee length dresses on the Q, and I was surprised there were about 500. I found a couple I might purchase. I saved them so I can think about buying later. I rarely buy anything online on a whim.

Have a Great Day!

At my hairdresser's shop, there is a hair stylist who wears these dusters over pants instead of a smock, it does look rather stylish, whatever floats your boat.

WOW! I am sorry you feel that way, but there are MANY posters who happen to like that look!🥰 I had a BEAUTIFUL duster by Renee that I LOVED❤, but it was just too long! Sales must be robust, or they simply would not continue to offer them!😁 I am certain they do not appeal just to women over 50 because younger women have GOOD taste too!😊

DH asked why the neighbor that moved in across the street is always wearing long flowy dresses. I told him may be that's what she is comfortable wearing.
