I understand what you're saying. Sounds like you do a great job buying only things you love, want to keep, and will wear.

Sometimes I buy an item that seemed like a good idea at the time, but I probably shouldn't have bought. So it sits in my closet and doesn't get worn. Those are the pieces I get rid of if I haven't worn them the past year. If I have no intention of wearing it, out it goes. I have a very small closet so I don't have room to keep things I'm not going to wear.

Enjoy the Weekend!

@wilma  We've all done that only to later say "what was I thinking!"  Those are the items we need to purge.

It's too early for me.

Does this count? I have toooo many Berkshire throws, blankets, just too many and they are in three closets.

I'm keeping the newest ones and the rest will go to my local Humane Society! They are clean and spotless.

Fur babies need warmth and softness too.

@wilma  - I need to go thru my closet and do an edit.  I know I've got things I haven't worn for the past few years that need to go.

I'm like you.  All my clothes are in my walk-in closet.  I don't have to change with the seasons.  Nothing is stashed away in bins.  I do have a separate closet for winter coats and jackets though.

Your thread has motiavated me to get started.  Maybe this weekend!

Two years ago I did a massive purge. I just moved last weekend and purged (prior) again.

My new digs have a big walk-in closet. I am going to try to resist the urge to fill it.

Although I just ordered two dresses. So maybe I am not so good at that.

@San Antonio Gal

Wish I had a walk-in closet! But then, I'd probably just buy more clothing that I don't really need.

Keeping all my clothes for all 4 seasons in my small closet and 2 dressers really motivates me to keep things pared down. There's only room for so much. We have a coat closet in our entryway.

Enjoy your weekend!

lol, don't feel bad because I'm right there with you.😃❤️

It wouldn't surprise me if I pulled out a leisure suit from the back...of course I'm kidding, but it's been awhile since I've cleaned it out.😂

Just, with my son, edited his T-shirt closets, wow, bought too many on sale @ Meijer's, in Mi.  Good will gets our donations and we only send them slightly used apparel.  I will do mine very soon, no one is too soon to do this project.

As I have worn things this summer I washed and set things aside that I just did not like or did not feel good on.

I turned 69 recently, and I feel a few things were just not my style anymore.

I think DH and I will close our business at the end of next year, at least that is the plan,  so I don't need anymore clothing for work. I will concentrate on more retirement, stay at home clothes in the future.

I don't get rid of my nicer things, I still dress for church and have a function now and then that I need things for that are nicer than day wear.

Not sure the new phase of life  (retirement) will be my cup of tea....but I guess I have a year to try to get my head in that space.

I absolutely hate spending money on clothes!  WV has 4 distinct seasons, but I wear the same clothes year round.  I don't own sweatshirts or sweaters and there is no closet switchover, ever.  In fact, my closet is storage space for totes, and everything I wear is in a 6 drawer dresser.  Retirement has greatly simplified my life as far as "my stuff".  I like to keep it plain and simple.
