Re: Class of 2021: Prom Dresses

OK now I know I'm old.  I don't think any should be worn by a high school girl. To me these are dresses for a Miss America pageant.  Is this really what young girls are wearing now???????

Yes it's what they are wearing. Do some people here think they should wear turtlenecks?

@Greeneyedlady21    There is a middle ground between a turtleneck and that red form fitting slinky number.

Re: Class of 2021: Prom Dresses

Teens have been wearing low-cut dresses to prom since I went in 1978 and 1979. I am sure it was nothing new at that time. Some people may not like it but it is acceptable for this special event at many schools.

I've seen beautiful dresses that are also modest, but they are few and far between now.  I wish designers and retailers would offer a choice.  Not everyone wants to bare it all, and in my opinion, teens are too young to be dressing that way.

@Greeneyedlady21 Oh for pete's sake. I have a GD in her 20's, she's beautiful with a nice figure and no way would she have been allowed to wear a revealing dress.

Plus she was raised with good taste, thanks to her mother and father.

That turleneck comment was ridiculous.

@Iwantcoffee There are many dresses that show a little cleavage and that's fine. I don't think it's appropriate for a **teenager** to have half-bare breasts for a dressy occasion.

And not ALL young girls wear those dresses, as I know from what I've seen.

I don’t see anything wrong with those dresses.
