Wow. Let's celebrate the demise of another female executive that reported to a guy who is ultimately responsible for every decision. What is it about the culture of this forum and the continual attack on successful women, unless they die, then the offer of accolades? So a guy in the CEO seat is going to better relate to the predominant female QVC customer base and give us free shipping? Nothing wrong with reminiscing about the good old days of QVC, but time marches on---there is no going back. The good ole' boys club is stoking and supporting each other. What are we doing????? Great. I thought we were making progress...ugghhh
I would bet the majority of us didn't even know there was a female CEO. Whoever is responsible for the "new" QVC needs to go. I don't base my opinion on gender. Perhaps she wasn't responsible for the new direction but just took "orders". I did look up when she was made CEO and it was 2011 about the time of all this social media push. And the focus on the worship of QVC hosts and not the variety and quality in the products. Maybe the wrong leader was let go but I don't care if she was "Claire" Watts or "Mike" Watts.

I truly believe the idea of TV Shopping will be dinosaur sooner than later....maybe not tomorrow or next yr, but definitely by the time the clock flips over to a new decade.

It seems to be the norm acceptable behavior and attitude for Q across the enterprise. Mike George should have been held accountable for the decisions made under his helm since 2006. To throw Claire under the bus to save himself is unfortunate. I don't see it as the change that will improve QVC since it's been HIS decisions, and he is still making the decisions. Don't you know/understand that the primary reason for these types of dismissals are more about personal conflict, not about job performance? Those customers yearning for the good ole days will continue to be disappointed. On 9/6/2014 Chi-town girl said: So Mike George has been at the helm of QVC since 2006, yet everything that is wrong with QVC is the fault of Claire Watts? That said, we don't know what directives Mike George gives to each of them.
Mindy Grossman at HSN has many cheerleaders here. This is not about supporting or not supporting successful women. Not at all.

If they have to keep the hosts make them be more in the background just to keep things moving along-- they don't need to be like the "sham-wow" guy.
I agree.

Speaking of Brands.........................still ,after approx. 10 years, have my Dialogue slacks, and jackets, pants fit perfectly. Could never understand why QVC discontinued the brand.

Daysdee Yes, your comments are so on point LR out of control, all she does is talk about GILI, and look in the monitor.................................so vain.........................and Courtney so 3rd grade, does anyone care about her wedding? Does she have family, relying on QVC viewers to plan her wedding, how sad. I watch to shop, I have enough friends.
HSN hosts are professional they present the items, not themselves. That dancing nonsense is classless.

Personal conflicts occur in the workplace between two men, two women or a man and women. You don't know why she was let go. To surmise it's just because she is a woman and was chosen to be the "scapegoat" is just wrong. Would you be just as upset if this was a man.

Miranda1550 - I still have lots of my Dialogue, Motto & Sport Savvy clothes as well. I hate to get rid of them because there isn't anything decent to replace them with even if they are ages old.
