Maybe in some parts of the country but where I live Irish knit sweaters are staple of winter life. It would be like saying a movie made boots or parkas popular. Everyone wears them and while they can be expensive, they last forever and never go out of style. I'm loving the dog sweater but I have seen dogs sporting them too.

I really like those sweaters. However, only when they are slouchy like it is fitting him. I dont like them tight looking like it some of those pictures.
The sweaters have been around for awhile but celebrities do bring them to everyone's attention especially when they look good in them. I never bought something because of a celebrity but people flock to have the same things as them.

This was an expensive thread for me; today I bought 3(1 from Amazon and 2 from Landsend). I have had a total of 3 before (1 I bought in Ireland and 2 handmade in S. Korea but it's been 35 years since my last one). Today's sweaters are white, lavender and light turquoise.
