Re: Childhood Clothing Memories

Leprechaun shoes, go go boots, short skirts, jumpers and tent dresses. My mother and I never saw eye to eye on clothing. She made me wear chubby's. I look back and think I have a few extra pounds. I hated them. I did manage to dress cute though.

Re: Childhood Clothing Memories

I wore black and white saddle shoes, white blouse, plaid uniform skirt, bolero and tie to Catholic School. Wore a white pleated dress which I hated for my Confirmation. I remember how thrilled I was to get my first pair of bell bottoms and how disappointed I was that my dad wouldn't let us get white gogo boots. He thought they made a girl look cheap. Attending Catholic schools and wearing uniforms we really didn't need too many casual clothes. Of course we had dresses, patent leather shoes , stockings and a hat for church. I always had a beautiful girly quilted long robe to wear. These are the standouts from my childhood!
