Re: Carol Wright Catalog Bankruptcy

From AmeriMark, they are hoping to find a buyer and remain in business:

The primary reason for the bankruptcy filings is to preserve and maximize the value of the Companies while they pursue a sale process. The Companies retained an investment banker and marketed their assets for sale prior to the commencement of their bankruptcy cases, but have not yet been able to identify one or more buyers for a going concern sale of their businesses and assets. The Companies have stopped selling their products at this time pending the result of the sale process in the Bankruptcy Court. The Companies anticipate that the sale process will be concluded over the next couple of months. The Companies are hopeful that one or more buyers of their assets will restart selling their products, but cannot promise that that will occur.

Re: Carol Wright Catalog Bankruptcy

Well, that's sad.  I have probably ordered from all of these places over the years.  I hope some of them can recover.  I get so disgusted.  Everything seems to be going down the tubes.  Mail order places, local stores, restaurants -- you name it.  When I keep hearing on t.v. -- oh, the economy is doing well, things are improving --- I think --- Huh?  Really?  C'mon --- get real!  It's rubbish.  They must think we are all just stupid or something.....

Re: Carol Wright Catalog Bankruptcy

QVC and HSN could be next.

I was in a place Thurs that used to carry Vera Bradley

bags they quit because people were buying online.

Didn't tell her I switched to Patricia Nash. LOL

More of the high end stores will be closing. Due to inflation and people just don't have it to spend any more .

More places will be going under.

That's too bad. I like to buy return address labels for envelopes from this catalog. They have always had some other handy hard to find items too. I also get them from Harriet Carter. I'll bet Amazon's carrying of many of the types of items in these catalogs hurt them.

There are a few other catalogs impacted. Dr Leonards and LTD Commodites catalogs are among the others.

"AMDRL Holdings, AmeriMark Intermediate Sub, AmeriMark Direct, AmeriMark Intermediate Holdings, Dr Leonard’s Healthcare and LTD Commodities."

Re: Carol Wright Catalog Bankruptcy

This info is helpful.  AmeriMark just filed on Tues. 4/11 for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.  According to an article, items shipped before 4/11 will go thru though items not shipped yet customers will not be charged for that item.

I did notice the pants I ordered from them the charges dropped off on my account.  Durn, I really wanted that item too.  Ah, well.  Now I know why.

Thanks.

Re: Carol Wright Catalog Bankruptcy

Oh I do so hope they are able to keep in business! I order a lot from Carol Wright, Harriet Carter, AmeriMark, etc. I will be devastated if it doesn't come to fruition. I buy shoes, tops, jackets, household things. I didnt even know this was all happening until now. Saying payers for a good outcome for the businesses!
