My husband is deceased now, so it's not applicable, but when he was alive.....no way would I have wanted him to pick out my clothes and jewelry.  I'm a functioning adult and make my own choices, thank you very much.  

Reminds me of when we used to go to the casinos and I'd see husbands standing directly behind their wives chairs at the slot machines and the husband would dole out the money for the slot machines to the wife, a little at a time.  Made me want to puke.  I've got my own purse and wallet and don't need anyone giving me an allowance.  I didn't marry my father.

No, he never could!  Not even his own.  

He travelled a lot so when I packed, it was with slacks, shirt, socks and tie, all together.

There were a few times I may have forgotten and went to visit my parents and his coworkers knew immediately I was away with the kids at my parents.

He would remark a few times, when I was dressed if that was new!  Sadly it was never new but I wore many times!  He was an extremely generous man and all I had to do was go to our jeweler and he had a list with EXACTLY what I wanted when my husband came in!  It worked very well.

I always had everything I wanted.

Better than I can! My husband has great taste and is very creative! He does most of the decorating in our home too!

My DH bought me a sweater & pjs early in our marriage. I liked and wore both. After a few years though, he decided to give me gift certificates to the mall & my favorite clothing stores instead. He realizes I’m a picky person when it comes to clothing. He also bought me jewelry in the past as a surprise, but now he takes me to the jewelry store to pick something out myself.
