Even though we've been married most of our lives, he can't pick out what I wear.  For one thing, he never has been one to "shop" not even for himself.  Gave up on clothes when we were in our 30's.

The "hits" have only been when he has asked what I would like for a gift, but I have to be exact.

He's medical backup and in offices most of the day.  We eat out very rarely, so I can't use some jewelry if it's too delicate to work in.

Ha has never tried or wanted to.  I make most of the decisions about everything we buy. He doesn't want to be bothered.

Clothes definitely No but  selects and purchases  the most beautiful jewelry for me - always has and still does.  I have never requested any but he will suddenly gift me something and his choice is perfect.

Nope, everything he ever bought me as gifts went back to the stores. The first few years I tried to be nice about it, but my patience finally gave out and I told him to stop buying me clothes and jewelry.

Actually, he is quite good at choosing gifts. I won't turn down anything he has chosen over the 48 years I have known him. ...

Other than a solid black shirt or jacket of some sort, not really.

(Jammies are a safe bet, as I love my jammies.)

As far as jewelry, well yes, he seems to do very good on his own.
