Where does the 'don't wear white' stop?  Are men allowed to wear white shirts with their suits?

 

I wouldn't wear all white, but I doubt anyone is going to mistake a guest wearing white pants for the bride.

I would not wear white as a wedding guest. The last outdoor summer afternoon wedding I attended I wore a short sleeve blue knee length dress. I do not know about Pennsylvania, but a jacket would be too hot here outside on afternoon in July.

I would wear the white pants & your color top. How do you know the bride isn’t wearing an ivory gown as I did 49 years ago. 

Enjoy the wedding. Things are different today.

UPDATE;  I e-mailed the bride and she said white pants and blue lace top sounds perfect!

Of course! Especially since you are wearing a blue jacket. I can’t imagine anyone would confuse you or think you are competing with the bride. Have a great time!

Wear your white pants and be comfortable!! then take an inventory of what others are wearing(in your mind) sometimes it is just pure entertainment.
