Re: CANYON RETREAT

[ Edited ]

I did watch and not a fan of the dress.  Did not like the jeans with a tucked in top.  I did like the top though.   Just not going to spend that much for it.

I guess I am not sure why Canyon retreat.  I thought Tess was hired to give Gary a break.

I don't really feel that Tess is a good fit to represent the line.  Just my opinion.

Realizing I'm in the minority here, I got the jeans and the bandana print cardigan.  I also like the t shirt and the printed ss top.  As for the dress, I have no use for a dress, but I have seen very similar in JCrew and Anthropologie.

Didn't see the Canyon Retreat show and it sounds like I didn't miss anything.  Since I'm working on trying to rein in my shopping addiction I've recently cut back on watching QVC and HSN so much in order to avoid temptation.  My TV is now no longer automatically tuned to QVC or HSN for fear I might miss something worth buying.   Making progress . . .

Looked at the video and think Mary might have looked better in the copper.  I thought the turquoise just made her look very washed out.  The model had on the white and without the pattern to disguise the tiers . . . oh, my.

I didn't see the show since I don't watch anymore but checked it out online.  Regarding the dress--except for the tiers which to me scream Little House on the Prairie--I liked it.  Good length, pockets, material looks good but of course way overpriced.  For $40 without the tiers, I would have seriously considered.

Can't speak to the host and vendor since I don't know/listen to either one.

@kaydee50 I would wear the white one with a lot of my Southwest turquoise and silver jewelry.  It would be great for a summer get-together, birthday party, etc.

I really like the style of tiered dresses.....but it seems

the vendors on the Q are bringing in more dresses and they look more like house dresses of yesteryear.....not

stylish at all...........do i dare say frumpy?

@Calcgirl      I agree with you. I watched the video of the dress and 2 blouses. I didn't see anything wrong with their presentation. About the dress. Tiered dresses are very popular now. Especially with young women. But they are usually full and flowy not belted in. I also think like you that you have to be pretty lean to carry them off. This dress made Mary look short waisted. It is not cut right. I think the designer is trying to marry the modern tiered dress with an old fashioned shirtwaist dress and it missed the mark.

@kelsey17 Frumpy?  What do you want for a backyard party?  Or a bbq or cookout?  Where I live you would be very well dressed.  But then that's my life. . .

What does "oh my!" mean?  Why post if you aren't going to say something?
