With Mary Beth's coloring, I'd do taupe and add a little blush to the cheeks.Smiley Happy

Enjoy!

Im a blonde and Im 53, everything I own is black. However I bought a pretty creamy/taupe sweater and it looks really pretty.

I would give up Starbux for a month and get both but thats me.

whatever you decide you will look fantastic in it!

I would go with the taupe as it is lighter and a more cheerful color!

@dogsx3which color do you think you would get more wear out of?

Without actually seeing skintones it's hard to say for sure, but I do agree with those color specialists who say choose your neutrals from your own coloring.

If you have quite a bit of black or "darkness" in your coloring, i.e. hair, eyes, or very deep skin color, black can look smashing.  Your coloring can support high contrast too.

If you have taupe-ey shades in your hair, skin etc. then draw neutrals from that more "gentle" spectrum.

My coloring is not that different from Mary Beth.  Light hair, fair skin.  I think though that she has vivid blue eyes, and mine are a muddy blue gray.  My prettiest neutrals are cream, taupe, beige (if it is not too yellow), light dove gray, dusty rose or very dusted-down blush.  They all relate to my coloring.  Black, especially worn next to the face on me, is draining and emphasizes lines and shadows.

Whatever you choose, hope you love it!

I would go with what I feel most comfortable in and what color I chose first.
