I have several scarves, even though I'm in a fairly mild winter temperature zone. But when we have a norther strike, I want a cozy scarf up around my neck. Love the one in @ECBG 's photo.

I love scarfs but prefer them without fringe. I like to wear large shawls with one side tossed over my shoulder. It makes me feel like glamorous.

If you want a real treat, look up Vivkie Vipperman. She is the queen of weaving on the Guild. She also works in craft education.
Oh yes! I found (and bookmarked) the site. There are some stunning stole/scarves. The designs are beautiful. I also loved the red tartan stole. Soooo pretty! Thank you for sharing the info.

I do wear a silk or cashmere scarf when I wear my winter coats (to protect my neck from a wool coat) but I find big bulky scarves impossible to wear when I am driving. They often get in the way and are impractical. I am not a fan of any accessory that tries too hard to make the wearer look like they are trying to be a "fashionista." Too studied and a turn off....🥺

When I first joined Etsy in 2008 there was a Japanese woman who had a shop of knitted goods. She knitted huge scarves using thick wool/yarn & very large knitting needles. The texture of the scarves had extra large loops.
The scarves looked like blankets. Sort of like the photo above of Lenny K but with thicker stitches. I thought they were a bit much and couldn't imagine wearing one that large myself but her shop was very popular and she had the most striking photos.
I think Lenny is awesome but he looks like (@sanantoniogal suggests) he grabbed a blanket throw off the couch.

Another vote for loving the entire outfit...
I looked up that red plaid scarf. It was a home brand of Bloomingdales and sold out of course!

I like scarves, however, never thought of them as a "trend".
The photo @ECBG posted is very very pretty, including the scarf.

I buy winter scarves from Crossnore, in NC,a mountain school that teaches students to weave in the methods of the 1800's. They are honored members of the permanently jurried craft guild and also make ponchos.
Put "scarf" in the info bar.
You can't find nicer items!
I own a Crossnore stole. Great quality! Love it! I gave a couple of them last year to my sister and mom for Christmas.
A couple of years ago, when we were staying at The Grove in Asheville, NC, I saw a Crossnore stole in the gift shop. It was a beautiful pastel baby blue, and I've wished several times that I had purchased it because I never see that color on their website. I've thought about calling to see if they can make it in that color for me, but I wondered if they'd take a custom request like that.
To answer your question, I do love scarves, and I'm starting to like fringe. I bought an Isaac cardigan a few weeks ago on sale at QVC that has a fringe trim at the bottom. I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but I do, and I've received lots of compliments.

Fringe or "fringes" as some designers are calling the style, has been big on clothing several years. Fringe on scarves is just an extension of carrying the fringe into another form of clothing.
