Beyonce has commissioned a pair of sneakers made by PMK, (Perfectly Made Kicks), using skins from 5 different animals- anaconda, crocodile, stingray and ostrich skin and calf hair.
The custom designed wedge style sneaker was first made popular by Isabel Marant, and sold for more than $350 a pair, so Beyonce's new embellished product would sell for much more. This could fuel the existing wildlife trade, (much of it illegal), making the market demand for exotic skins even greater, and increase poaching.
Her and others like her epitomize of the wrong sense of luxury. So very sad.
