I'd LOVE to have some of these scarves!

I recently got back into scarves (used to have quite a collection). I have bought them in Italy and China (as well as Ebay). I prefer 35" or 59".

I don't know how women stand all the bulk around their throats. How do they eat, drink, or function? No thanks, I can't stand more than a silk or poly scarf. I like infinity scarves, no muss, no fuss.

I've been wearing scarfs around my neck to highlight my outfits since the seventies. Its really how I landed my dh. We worked together and he was enamored with my style and loved the little scarves (remember it was 1974) that I wore around my neck.

I absolutely love scarves. I wear them three seasons out of four, especially when I'm wearing it like I would a necklace -- loose and drapey or with a beautiful pin. Or sometimes it's like a flowy wide collar around my coat. I have some with reproduced master art work, poetry, I even have one with a list of banned books written on it. Most of my scarves are almost like jewelry to me.
But the kind I do not like are infinity scarves. Those limit how I want to style them. Plus, if I'm wearing it for warmth, I have to twist it around my neck, over my head, my hair gets messed up, my earrings get caught, etc., and it ends up too tight or too loose on me.

Although I admire them on other people, I've never felt like I looked good with a scarf. Maybe I haven't chosen the right scarf or wrapped it right.

I think scarves can add such a nice detail to an outfit (although I am not really a lover of all of the "fancy" ways to tie them -- I tend to like them simply done), but I can only wear a few types. I am very petite, with a small head and short hair, and the amount of fabric in many scarves is simply overwhelming on me. I do own a few narrower scarves with less volume for winter.

Our scarf season is pretty short so I wear them a lot for a few months. I like rectangular and eternity scarves, not so much square. The only downside is that I don't wear the necklaces/pendants that I would normally wear in the winter. The scarves are too darn pretty, mostly prints for me.

Don't you just love it when your personal style suddenly becomes fashionable?
Last year ... in the world of knitting/crochet ... "super scarves" were a hot item. One manufacturer (Lion Brand) came out with two yarns "Scarfie" and "Shawl in a Ball" ... specifically for scarves and shawl.
They are still a hot item in knitting/crochet mags today - both American and European mags.
Chunky knit cocoon shawls are also hot. I have two "on the needles" at the moment. I plan on making them in several more colors.

Hi @ECBG
I wore a scarf today (temps are finally starting to cool around here) in a knot that you helped me with a while back.
On this video, there's an interesting knot at the :06 mark...a crinkled blue scarf. I cannot for the life of me figure how to do it! Do you know the name of that knot or can you give me any tips...it's driving me crazy.
Hope you are well...Tig's Noodle Bake for dinner tomorrow!
