Thanks for the heads-up. I cancelled a couple of items this morning and fortunately they were from the same order. I would have been really angry if my other stuff got cancelled too, but they were on a different order.

Also, I wanted to add that I haven't tried canceling anything by phone lately -- not sure I want to. It may or may not do the same thing. And I did advise CS of the "issue."

UPDATE: it's back to normal. You can now cancel one item of a multiple-item order from the order status page without canceling the whole order. It wasn't that way yesterday, so they must have just changed (corrected?) it today.
