Basic turtleneck -- where to find ?

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a basic turtleneck to wear under sweaters or tops that doesn't have an overly small and tight neck to it.  Not a mock neck or cowl neck, just a basic turtleneck, but a comfortable one that has some room to it.

Any suggestions on where to find one?  Or, a specific brand that you recommend?

Thanks for any ideas.

Good question -- I didn't think about that!   I guess something that is thinner and any material is fine as long as it's comfortable.  I'm not going for "warmth" -- just something to wear under a top or sweater.

I forget whether it was Anthony or Slinky (hsn) but one of those brands had a 2 pack of basic turtlenecks for around $50. I can't speak to Anthony, I've never tried any, but I've had good luck with slinky

Cuddleduds has a nice layering turtleneck.  It's called Softwear.  I wear them all winter under other sweaters and even under sweatshirts.  They are light but offer a nice layering option without bulk.

You can find them in JC Penney, Kohls, Bon Ton.

Re: Basic turtleneck -- where to find ?

I used to work nights in labor and delivery and I always got cold even with a scrub jacket. I bought 100% cotton turtlenecks from Eddie Bauer, LLBean and Lands End. I wore them under my scrubs.  All three places sold exactly what I needed. The neck was just right and was a true turtleneck. Eddie Bauer had a higher priced one that I loved. It was a silky looking and feeling cotton and was just perfect. Good luck!

504-585 has good reviews. lightweight layering piece
(Slinky).
The Anthony's are sleeveless and mock but I'm actually considering them for myself LOL
