"makes you look larger like you're the balloon."
so funny!
I'm still laughing at this!![]()
and re balloon sleeves, I too think it depends how big and where they are.
My daughter gave me a top of hers that has a slight i'd say puff on the top of the sleeve, or really more like 3 small layers, something I wouldn't think would look good on me at all. But I like it and get compliments too. It is feminine and adds a touch of interest rather than the plain t-shirt top. Anyway it makes me feel pretty.
But yeah the pirate shirt type or volumnous sleeve-no![]()

I bought my daughter a pretty blouse with balloon sleeves for Mother's Day. Uh oh. I hope she likes it. Its white with pale blue running through it.

I'll have to look online for baloon sleeve tops.
A sheer print baloon sleeve blouse type of top would be nice.
Not too 'puffy'. A slightly puffy baloon sleeve.

I do like the shape of this sleeve not the fabric, no elastic waist.

She will probably love it.
Because the fashion industry requires change, especially younger women, and when options are exhausted, Fashion becomes cyclical. The puffy shirt didn’t start in the 1990s with Seinfeld. In fact no one probably knows the origins. But, we do know it’s been much longer than the 1990s, going way back to the Baroque period in history. Exaggerated bell sleeves, lantern and tiered ruffles on arms and at necks; oversize collars are nothing new. They may seem weird at first. We are open-minded to bringing back in style statements that have been dormant because we get bored. There was no elastic in sleeves at that time. Sleeves were tapered with self-fabric. No garment of any signficance has elastic sleeves. That's a new, cheap way of skimping on fabric and labor.

If they are not real huge, I am not tbothered by it, but would like to be able to try on before purchasing.
I thought I would like the peplum look too and purchased without trying on, and it is not a good look for me.
