Generally they don't pill, but after numerous washes they aren't as soft as when they are new.

There are lots of knock-offs on Amazon, but I don't know how the quality is.

The knockoffs are pretty good. Same fabric and similar styles. Amazon does sell identical clothing. I suspect the clothing is ALL made in the same facility in China using the same fabrics. BDs aren't made in Malibu with U.S. fabrics - most of the clothing sold in the USA is made in China or Vietnam.  I assume the fabrics are made overseas as well - I saw a doc recently about Chinese fabric and clothing factories - WOW what an eye opener. Huge modern clothing factories with computer-generated colors and designs that are then cut and constructed in mass quantities. BIG business.  They don't mess around! Nothing much is made in America anymore.

It's ALL a huge load of marketing, advertising, celebrity endorsements, fashion & style magazines, videos and video ads, TikTok, sales, profit margins, corporate earnings - IT IS EVERYWHERE.  Everybody wants our money. We (women) are bombarded with all sorts of advertising every hour, much of it is subliminal. And Oprah has lost her shine since info came out about her financials.  Remember that most people especially those in the public  & media  don't do ANYTHING for free or to be "generous and loving".  She gets  loads of free stuff  and $$$ in exchange for endorsing it, giving it away, selling it and wearing it.   She started a magazine which is not much more than one big product advertisement.  She and everyone else who promote products don't  do anything for FREE. How do you think they all become SO wealthy?  "Oprah's Favorites" is the best commercial ever.

I love all of my Barefoot dreams items.  Super cozy and comfortable.  To me they are worth it, but I do try to catch them on sale.  I've gifted their throw blankets a lot and everyone loves them and says it is their favorite blanket.

I agree.  I love mine.  And their resale value is high.  Per making them in Vietnam, etc. even electronics have been made in Asia for years and years.  They're dreamed up and created in California, Massachusetts, Israel, and  Germany.  But they are put together in various Asian countries. Very few of anything is put together in the U.S.  Old technology like cars, etc, are created and designed in the U.S. But have parts made overseas then  shipped back to the U.S. to be put together. That's because of the insistent of their very powerful unions.  And the cost of cars keep going up and up.
