I'm in my late 60s and I'm a size 20 in numbered pants, a 1x usually; let's call me zoftig, meaning curvy, plump etc. I'm 5'5". I really don't have anyone whose fashion sense I can consult so I'm appealing to the savvy gals on the forum.

I really like camo patterns but have refrained from owning any piece of clothing for fear of looking way too silly, for my age and physique, in such a pattern. Some camo is just too vivid or bold.  But I just was taken by Denim & Co pants with item # A279890. I like these in blue, more subdues and I wear blue often, and the measurements say they would fit me fine. I've worn this cut from D&Co in solid only. They really just fit like nice  jeans, not tight or too skinny.

I'd like to avoid an expensive return if these camo pants are wrong for me, but I'm so wanting to try a camo garment. So, please offer your candid opinion about whether you think I'm too big or too old for slim cut blue camo-patterned twill pants as pictured. I'll be guided to resist or surrender to my desire by any help you offer. I won't take any opinion as being unkind unless it's put that way.

Thanks!

I'd stay with solid colors. I'm busty, so, I always try to stay in dark colors on the top same ol' navy and black. Luckier, on the bottom, but, those 2 colors are really slimming.

Camo , reminds me of duck hunters.

@gizmogal.....I have found that if I need to ask anyone else's opinion or start wondering if something is going to look good on me, that it most definitely won't. I have a sort of second sense about what does look well and usually the nicest clothing in my limited, minimalist wardrobe are tried and true styles.

Would I wear camo clothing? No, and it has nothing to do with my size and everything to do with my dislike of that type of clothing in general. So I may be the last person who should be answering your question.

Good luck on your decision. I hope if you do decide to purchase them that you love wearing them. That's all that really counts anyway. Life is short.....

@gizmogal My opinion, if you like them that is all that matters. I would pair the camo pants with a longer style top to cover the bottom and top of thighs. Regardless, I feel as long as you like the print, you should buy and wear what you like. Hope that helps.

edited to add: I am ex-military and live in a military town. I like camo prints if they are done right and the one you are looking at seems nice.

I like to look modern and current, I like to do my interpretation of the trends.  I like those pants, I'm a curvy size 14/16 now and I am 57.  If I bought those pants, I would buy them in the gray or navy camo to tone them down a bit.  I'd wear them with a solid or white tee and sneakers.  I'd want an athletic vibe.  For fall, I'd do a sweatshirt and my black ankle mechanic style boots.  I don't think we are ever to old or too cury to wear anything we want to wear, we just have to buy the correct size and style it in a way that works for our bodies and or lifeystyles.

If I was going to wear camo pants the ones you linked are a decent choice.

As mentioned before, I'd wear a longer tunic over them in the dark part of the print.

I'd bring the tunic down to where the still model's fingers are on the item number page.

@gizmogal  If you really love the style, I don't think the print is too large or garish for a larger person to wear.  As a previous poster said, A solid color top that covers the essentials should make it work for you.  I personally like to wear prints on top and solid darks on the bottom, so I don't own any printed bottoms, as they wouldn't work with my tops.
