My dad was the Rainbo Bread Man
I think more than once in grade school, we went on a field trip to the Rainbo Bakery. When we left, they gave us these little individual loaves of bread. Gosh, long time ago.

Growing up in Southern California (I'm almost 67) we got milk delivered, for awhile, by Carnation. A good family friend was the delivery guy and he'd "gift" us with cottage cheese (which I hated!) and sometimes chocolate milk. I think after while the delivery got too pricey so we got it from the grocery store, but I remember it so well.
No bread man though.

we never had charles chips, but we loved going to lexington market and buying fresh warm UTZ chips!

Growing up in NJ we had a milkman, a breadman, the Fuller Brush man, and the Dugan's man (cupcakes and other fine, tasty treats!) If ever a time machine is invented, I'm going back to the 50's for Dugan's cupcakes!

My father was a milkman for Foremost for many years when I was little and we were living in Shreveport, LA.

Remember him??? I still have one! Not only does he deliver milk in glass bottles but he offers everything from eggs, fresh produce, turkeys for Thanskgiving, yogurt, butter, I could go on and on. I am still using the same metal milkbox from when my children were little. Love my Milkman!!!

We never had a bread man, but I remember the milk man! I woke up early many mornings to the sound of his truck, his footsteps on our gravel driveway, and the sound of milk bottles clinking and the lid of the insulated milk-box on our back porch closing. In fact, I have one of those old milk-boxes (now an antique!) in my kitchen today. Someone painted the outside of the box with a pretty dairy farm scene, and I picked it up at a flea market years ago.

We can still get milk delivered from a local dairy. They also have the best iced tea, chocolate milk and ice cream.
