Anyone had this problem with the pea jacket?

It finally got cold enough for me to wear my pea jackets--I have the black and the camel. Really love this coat--but have found the collar to be very scratchy against my bare neck! Thinking about having a tailor sew a panel of fabric similar to the lining onto the inside of the collar. Has this been a problem for anyone else?

I don't own this pea coat but I do have one similar made by JCPenney and sometimes depending on what I am wearing, my neck itches too from the wool content of the coat. I solve that problem with either a print scarf in a rayon or silk against my neck or use a regular winter scarf around my neck.

I have the raspberry and Persian blue. What are you wearing under it? I have worn both with t-necks and with shirts under them.

If I wear a blouse or sweater than covers my neck it is fine. But many of my tops leave my neck exposed, thus the problem. I just don't recall this being an issue with other jackets and coats. I'm sure that I just must be especially sensitive to the wool.

It hasn't bothered me, so you must be more sensitive than I am. I do usually wear a TN or WK scarf or something that covers my neck, but I have worn it with a crew neck too

Unfortunately, yes, I did have a problem with the collar and neckline due to the wool content. That's why I had to return the pea coat. It's a beautiful, well-made jacket but I'm much too sensitive to wear it.

I don't have that problem with mine, I do love my Persian blue coat, but it keeps catching on the seat belt in the car, I am wondering how long till the epaulet/button pulls loose. I am trying to remember to hold the seat belt away from it when I am releasing it.

This is how my mother and grandmother taught me to wear a wool coat when I was growing up - always with a silky scarf around my neck, inside the coat. I think that part of the purpose was to keep the inner collar clean and free from body oils. But it definitely keeps your neck from feeling scratchy.

Yes, they bothered my neck, which is why I returned them. I don't have a problem with wool. The texture of the fabric irritated my neck.

Yes, it is scratchy. I use a scarf and solves the problem for me.
