I don't usually complain about the price of Susan's clothes. However, I just looked up to see the price of this simple shrug A 221329 is $39 plus shipping?
That seems expensive for a little shrug? Maybe I'm wrong. I really want to hear your opinions. I might be wrong. It won't be the first or last time. However, I knw I won't be buying it.

Yes, I think so, too, since it would be closer to $50 with the s/h. I could knit a couple, or maybe even three, for $50 worth of yarn.

Well VCamp we must be the only two people who thinks it's expensive. There have been over 40 (LOOKS) and only you and I think it's expensive!

How long would it take you and would you actually do it? (I have a friend who spends a lot of time traveling for work and knits a lot on planes and in hotels and cranks out more shawls than I ever could.) I buy the yarn thinking I will, then never get around to it. Cheaper for me to buy the sweater, in the long run.
Expensive is a relative term. It seems odd that it's a cropped jacket and costs the same as a some of her shirts that are twice that length, so I think it's expensive in that regard, but I don't think it's an unfair price.
I actually worry more about $19 jeans at Old Navy, because how much are the people in that sweat shop making? I'm not saying I suspect Susan Graver is contracting workers for big huge wages, but she has a larger margin which at least allows for that. I refused to buy $19 jeans from Old Navy because I don't think they do.

Chynna, yes, I would make it if I wanted a crop jacket. Right now I'm working on socks for an upcoming birthday gift, & a lightweight summer T made of a cotton blend fiber.

You can buy a shrug for half that price. It won't be the same quality as Susan's, but if money is an object, I'd look at KMart or a thrift shop.

Based on the fabric and construction - the price is good.

You must have a great place buy yarn. $50 doesn't buy me much yarn.

I was at Steinmart's today and saw lots of similiar style shrugs for half the price.
