@SoX  Yea you probably have some USB ports on the side of the monitor somewhere.  I would really take a shot with a logitech keyboard.  I went to Catholic highschool and had 2 years of typing Woman Surprised  If I'm going to spend any length of time on my laptop, I pop the dongle in one of the USB ports and use my logitech keyboard because I am accustomed to keys that 'stand up' like a typewriter and not these flat keys that are crowded together.  It's a thing for those of us who learned how to type a certain way and I refuse to accommodate the technology.  I need a full size keyboard, end of story.

going from full size to the MAC was a big change

Re: AM Style Chat August 13th

Good morning everyone. I went for a walk around 6 this morning and it was so beautifully comfortable, should have walked even more.

@lolakimono I like your new dresses, and those sneakers are amazing. It will be so nice for you for your Mom to live so close. I miss my Mom every day.

I got a pair of cropped jeans at TJ Maxx this week for $10 on clearance, they're in perfect condition. Going to donate my old pair.

Re: AM Style Chat August 13th

Good morning from SC! Nice lower 70s this morning, first time in months. We've been having pop-up afternoon showers too! I've not been tempted by anything this morning but did like the Allegria clogs, my favorite type show, but not sure if they'd be narrow enough so will pass. I like the D&C shirt but don't want tunic length since I carry my "baggage" on my hips. Nice to see Leah back and nice to see so many of you are having good temps again. It's been a long, hot summer here

You know, I appreciate clean beauty or clean nutrition or whatever the heck it's called.  That said, every time I think about the nuts or whatever makes the argon oil I think about the goats that ate the nuts.  Is all of this argon nut harvesting messing with the goats?  Also I see lots of Omega XL ads because I don't have cable.  This guy says they make it with mussels I think from the pristine waters off of New Zealand.  What's happening to the eco system there every time they snatch these mussels from the pristine waters?

Re: AM Style Chat August 13th

@Bird mama

These are the "solutions" proposed in my district.

Collapse sections of classes so that the class sizes are larger. Elementary is now capped at 32.

DCs who hold non-teaching positions pick up additional classes (I was a teaching DC).

Contract positions for un/underqualified staff to address special education body requirements, with no obligation to stay for meetings, create IEPs or duties.  They authorized 15 million to fill 100 SPED positions, with 150K per position, when current veteran SPED teachers are making 55K, circumventing the collective bargaining.

My teachers are going back AGAIN without a contract.  It is in impasse, with arbitration pending 8/29.  BOE didn't want to approve a 4% COLA, without requiring additional duties and taking away planning time in which to do so.

Instead of pulling "teacher specialists" and other non-teaching positions to fill the gaps, this is something they have been doing.

* moving teachers involuntarily from "fully" staffed schools to understaffed ones

* pulling media specialists (who provide the break for planning time by taking K-5 classes) to teach, in some cases, in a core content area (science) for which they have no training

* dispatching Encore teachers (art, PE, music, language, FACS, tech ed) to teach core classes (science, SS, English and math)

* requiring FULL TIME teachers to split their day at up to three schools and travel

This is after many teachers had to switch level (elementary, middle, high) because the BOE changed the school start times and it affected child care and transportation
