I never had one and really never really wanted one. I wouldn't buy one now either -just doesn't fit my lifestyle. Had many other styles of jackets, all suede, and never wore them much either. Donated  prob 10  a few years ago.

IMO life is too short to worry about what others think of you. In other words, what others think of you is none of your business. I read that somewhere and I liked it. Live your life to the fullest and do whatever brings you joy. Wear the jacket.

To add to that....when I'm worried about how I look I remember (and we all know this but don't think of it often enough)....

you'd be surprised how little people even think of us in the first place because they're all just concerned and worried about how they look and what others think of them. haha

So rock on!

Wearing certain clothing pieces isn't about age - it's about if it works for your features. For instance, black feels really off on people with soft or those with 'smiley' features and angles in clothes work well for those with angled features, not for the soft or 'smiley' ones.

@ThinkingOutLoud   Don't understand your reply since I'm "soft and smiley" and have worn black most of my life...

You know, it's easy to say "go for it" and "do what makes you feel good", "who cares what other people think" blah, blah, blah .... but, oftentimes, we DO care what others think and we certainly don't want to look like we're trying too hard or look foolish.

Now, with regards to @Shanus and this particular jacket, I'm guessing you could not only pull the look off, but would probably look really good.  It's obvious from your posts that you take care of yourself and your looks.  I'm sure you'd be dressed stylishly while wearing the jacket, so I think you'd probably look great!

I have to say that several years ago I was toying with the idea of getting a suede fringed jacket or possibly a leather bag with fringe.  Trying to relive my once loved, even treasured, hippie memories.

While in the food store one day, I saw a man who was quite a few years older than me.  He looked like he could have been 80.  He had on a fringe suede jacket, cowboy boots, a red, white and blue bandana and a cowboy hat.  Sadly, he looked ridiculous.  (We don't wear cowboy attire in Philly).  Anyway, right then and there I decided to do away with the idea of a fringe jacket or purse.  LOL

I'd still wear a leather jacket, however!

I have a quite expensive real leather biker type jacket in black (of course). I put it away about 5 yrs. ago thinking I was too old to pull it off. Now I'm thinking, "what the heck" and it never gets "winter enough" for my puffer coats.

Anyone in their 70's still wear a black leather "Sandy in GREASE" jacket?

@Shanus

I'm a little surprised you have to ask this question.

With clothing, it's usually less about your actual age and more about how you STYLE the garment.

If you usually dress like an old lady, no leather jacket is going to make you look youthful.

I know that both leather and moto styles are trending big time. But unless we see a picture of you sporting this moto jacket, I feel it is difficult to give a thumbs up or down. I am sure we are all aware that two women can put on the same outfit. One will slay it and the other, well, not so much.

Your height, weight, age and how you carry yourself, all play into whether or not you can rock this style.

For me, I know I would not feel "me" dressed like a biker chick. God knows I have changed my "style" over the decades, but today I want to present myself in a more organic manner, never looking as if I am trying too hard.

If you look in the mirror and feel confident and like the way it looks....wear it and enjoy.

If you feel self conscious or uncomfortable in any way..pass it on or donate it.

I have to feel totally comfortable in clothing or my confidence blows right out the window.

@Shanus  I think that you will look chic. A black leather moto jacket is timeless. Enjoy wearing it. Life is short.Smiley Happy
