A223083 - LOGO Cowl Neck Tank Top, Pocket Serger Threads?

For the ladies that own this tank: What am I supposed to do with the long, serged threads that connect this tank's pockets to the cowl? Really an odd arrangement on the underside of this tank. I think I like this top but I can see where those diagonal threads could be a bit grating after having this on for a bit. If I snip these I just want to make sure that I won't destroy the way this tank is supposed to fit. Thank you for your help!
