I love and enjoy every single show Louis does. But I don't want to wear the poor man down. I feel as though we have him running a treadmill already with all the requests coming to him for the next set of sneak peeks and his generous open door to answer any/all questions at his blog. And this winter all those trips to PA must have been somewhat grueling with weather issues and taking care of things at home on his own property...... Owl,

Well said. I also watch/tape all Louis' shows. In addition to seeing all the beautiful new clothes, I also get many ideas for accessorizing outfits from seeing how he puts things together. You are right; I, too, always am left wishing there were more at the end of each of his shows.

I also watch/tape all of Louis' shows for the same reasons--styling & inspiration. Although, when I see QVC rolling out new seasonal clothing for all the other designers except Louis (while Louis is showing sneak peeks), it's disappointing. As it stands, we'll now have to wait until April to buy new spring clothing from Linea and be satisfied until then with "reorders." So, I have mixed feelings...I think a consistent or rotating bi-monthly time slot (on Monday night, e.g.) would be ideal, but at the very least, if the current show schedule remains, once the sneak peeks start rolling out for a new season, it would be great to have them available for purchase within a week or two, instead of a month or more.

Re: A Suggestion for Monday Night Programming

I used to watch all the Linea shows but they are beginning to look like everything else on QVC. I do still purchase WK and few select items. I have no suggestions for Monday night scheduling because I never watch it.

If he wanted to retire...he could retire.

I think he still wants to be as successful as possible. He could rent or buy a place in PA.

There is no need for that---he's not that far away...a house would be more trouble than it is worth---one more thing to worry about....I think Jac shares the driving responsibilities...it's 155 miles or so---so less than 3 hours in good traffic and good conditions. I personally don't want/need him to be on every week. I prefer it just the way it is. After all, a REAL designer needs time to design, sketch and select the fabrics, work out all the manufacturing issues (when they push back on details they'd prefer not to do). After wailing and the gnashing of teeth we all went through when they tried to cancel Louis, I am happy as a clam that we have what we have---to me, it's just right!

I agree with you. I like keeping Linea special, however I would love him to get some better evening times. They put some of these new comers on in the evening, and you can't tell me after two or three shows their volume is anywhere near that of Linea. I do think having a Monday night show featuring a different designer each week would be more interesting the Lori and Isaac all the time. I just came in from my local mall and H&M has Logo type tops, all kinds at two for $10 in great colors, not $54 plus. I like Lori and own some, but I just bought 10 pieces at a fraction of the cost. I think a once a week show is overkill. We'll see.

Re: A Suggestion for Monday Night Programming

I'd love to see some kind of hour long 'spotlight on style' show where they devote an hour to a dozen of their designers on a 12 week rotation.

I only watch the Linea Shows - and nothing else on Q.

The Q's repetitive programming and limited brands and product selection have sent me shopping elsewhere.

I can't see how LOGO's hour shows are going to keep going. JMO A rotation of the designers like Louis, Bob Mackie, etc. would be a good idea. Maybe Louis could be on every 4 or 6 weeks and not have those super early a.m. shows all the time.

Re: A Suggestion for Monday Night Programming

I have been a Louis dell'Olio customer since 1983. I love his clothes period....I only want him to be on when he wants to be on. Yes, some of the time his shows are not scheduled the best for east coast viewers but are much better for west coast viewers. There have been discussions like this before and he never responds. I like it just the way it is. I want him to do what he wants to do.

I personally think all of this is silly. Just my opinion.Smile

Yes, but a nice alliteration....

Panache means (among other definitions per Dictionary.com) "verve, style, flair". The fact that the supply of Louis' fashion items is relatively small (scarce) may help to promote the idea that they are stylish "boutique" items with special verve, style, and flair (panache) and not the run-of-the-mill, mass-produced lines that are QVC's mainstay.

The scarcity preserves the panache. Makes perfect sense to me. And yes, the alliteration is nice. It would have been even nicer if I had said, "The paucity preserves the panache." Pungently perfect prose.
