I connected the Sony stereo shelf system today.  For a minute there I was panicking when I couldn't get the Technic turntable to spin - thank goodness for the internet and people who upload manuals.  After I got over my duh moment, I put on the 45 of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by the only person who ever sang it right Ms Roberta Flack.

The occasional crackle (I should have cleaned the record better) and the warmth of the analog had me smiling and crying at the same time.

I doubt my husband waits around in heaven for me to say something to him, lol.  Considering that I still said something.  I told him, kiddo the music is back in the house and I figured out how to get the turntable hooked up - doesn't it sound wonderful?

I'm going to test the CD player function now.  Right now, this little shelf system is the best money I've spent in a really long time.

Hi, I'm here!   Glad your Sony is up and running ... you're playing a great song ... I have the vinyl album, but mainly listen to it on You tube.  It's also one of Amazon's weekly streaming albums from last week.

I got so caught up the the weekly pledge drive for our local PBS station yesterday, that I pledged $120 to get all the "gifts" they were offering ... an  "I Can Handel it" bumper sticker; a WTTW  tee shirt, a Bachanalia CD, a trumpet CD ... gosh, lots more.   The sound of this Sony is just the best thing since God was a boy.

@SoX  I've got original records that are 40 years old.  This is exciting.  I noticed that the system has bass boost.  I just have to remind myself not to blow out my speakers, lol.

The shelf system is just one of the best creations ... lets you "multi task" while on the computer,  and while watching a Star Trek episode ... no wonder my mind "wanders,"  LOL!

I like Sony products.  I have a boom box from the late 90's.  

This thing plays phenomenally.  Plus it has the capability to play cassette tapes and yes, I have those too, lol.
