Re: 🎇 A.M. Style Live Chat, 🎇 7:00, 7/4

@Bird mama

I feel the same when I go to the allergist, but I feel like I will be "sicker" if I don't get my shots. They are scheduled now, instead of the dropins, to reduce the number of people but it still feels weird.  They wear gigantic face shields, and it feels like I stepped on the set of Outbreak.

We have a VERY important support staff person who got promoted to the BOE, so we celebrated her promotion yesterday.  She is one of the people who helped me get my student to college, so she's leaving a big hole behind.  She was busy closing out her job with us AND having to do duties at her new position.  Ridiculous!

There is a core group of five of us, from different ed areas in the school, and so we were going to have lunch at the one lady's house, who lives on the water and has a long dock that we could be outside and remain distanced.  Of course, yesterday was the hottest day of the year, so the day before we decided to move it to another lady's house, as she has a pool.  We spent lunchtime inside the AC and then four of us hopped into the pool, still far apart while one remained on the patio with the misting fan.  It was nice to catch up other than by group texts.  I haven't seen one of them since March, even though we live in the same town.  We talked about how weird it is that we don't even talk on the phone to anyone- just like a bunch of cloistered teacher nuns.

Good Morning, I haven't even looked at was offered yet.  Wow, it is hot, hot and hot here too.  Maybe the kind of weather some people dream about - not me.... 90's for 10 days in a row with no rain is my idea of purgatory.

That cute bracelet that I ordered from the Q (steel by design open circle bangle) still has not arrived.  I ordered it on 6/23, it shipped on 6/24 and it made it to the UPS Mail Innovations to USPS hand off point in Urbancrest OH on 6/29.  That's when it stopped moving Woman Very Happy

You know, the way 2020 has been going I just laugh alot.  I'm sure the bracelet will find it's way here eventually.

I finally had my annual endocrinologist appointment on Monday (was postponed since beginning of April).  I'm not gonna lie, I was stressed out about being in confined spaces with people I don't know from Adam.  I saw some of the employees working the desk not wearing masks until they got ready to talk to patients and even though I walked in like this

it didn't take me long to feel like this

Considering I hadn't gone anywhere else almost 10 days before this appointment, when I started to feel tickly ears and a sore throat on Wednesday night, I was blaming that endocrinologist appointment.  My sister and I were supposed to go out to Target (whoo hoo) on Thursday and I cancelled on Wednesday because I wasn't sure what I picked up.

Zicam to the rescue - I need to buy stock in that company.

My sister is coming over today to visit for Independence Day.  We're gonna be inside because I can't take this disgusting hot and humid weather.  My house is big enough - we should be fine.

why are they not masked at the Drl?

have been to the dentist and a Dr appt

it's one person at a time in the waiting  and everyone is masked.

I did order the Vineyard Vines jacket, when it dropped to a price that I thought was reasonable.

Its going to be 100 degrees for the next couple of weeks and SMH over all the long sleeves, this looks like a fall wardrobe preview.....Woman Frustrated 🥵🌞

Headlines read, most of the U.S. will soar into the 90's....🌞

Now dont give me "the air conditioning is cold talk"

Here in our city we get alerts from our electric company telling us that its a "Peak Power Day" and to set your thermostats at 80 or above CONSERVE CONSERVE CONSERVE ENGERY (no laundry, no dishwashers, no oven, charge all electronics early in the morning etc etc etc)...and they send out a ranking as to where you are in energy use compared to your neighbors and the city average and which items you use that requires the most electricity which is of course your A/C....

The Electric company can also turn off your A/C if you have their smart thermostats for 30 minutes at a time during critical peak power periods....In other words, no one needs to grab a long sleeve shirt or wrap themselves in a throw because its not gonna be very cold at all...In fact on these days Im sweating with my thermostat turned up......🥵

It seems those looking for REAL summer fashions, like me, will have to shop elsewhere....Gee, wonder if this explains why apparel sales are down for QVC and but sales are looking good from their outdoor lines, cooking, and decor in a current businss journal article!

Re: 🎇 A.M. Style Live Chat, 🎇 7:00, 7/4

Hi to all of you.  I hope that you all have a nice safe 4th of July weekend.  Our hometown has fireworks going on, but you have to find a spot and sit in the 🚗🚗🚗.

I got up early and mopeded  downtown for my walk at 6:40. I was back home at 7:30.

Bird Mama, I am keeping this hot humid weather for at least 10 more days.  A little bit of rain might be coming our way.  I hate it too.  Enjoy your day with your sister.

I have been begging my DH to take me to AK for the next two months.  This hot weather makes my hands tingle and burn non stop.  It's a good thing that we have central air conditioning.

I slept like a baby last night.  I went to bed at 10:00 & didn't wake up until 5:30. I am usually awake a few times in the night.   We have been turning the A/C off when we go to bed & sleeping down in the basement guest bedroom.  Aaah l. Cool & dark.

No big plans for the weekend except for going into the hot tub after lunch.   It's too nice in the house.

I have a dental appointment on Tuesday and they come out to the Subaru to get me.  Only one patient at a time.  I get my much needed haircut on Wednesday.  I will be going in with a mask on & she will be masked.

Other than grocery shopping on Thursdays &  appts. that's our excitement.

Glenda

Hugs to all of you.

Re: 🎇 A.M. Style Live Chat, 🎇 7:00, 7/4

I saw this on Shawn late last night, did not look good on her I thought. This fabric appears to be really stiff, that collar would absolutely drive me nuts. Enjoy if you got it, just not for me.

Good morning ladies (and gents if you're here). Quiet in the 'hood this morning although neighbors (college kids) on either side of us had a dueling fireworks battle going on last night. Holy 4th of July Batman, the kids south of us really had some big time boomers for sure. DH was so dead tired after working a week outside in 92+degrees he fell asleep through the finale. Anyway, they all stopped nicely around 11P so it was okay.

He's going out to run a few errands, getting fixings to make a red, white, blue cheesecake. Doing chops on the grill tonight with a chili coffee rub (so stinking good), I'm making a freshly picked lettuce salad and homemade mac & cheese. Probably throw in a few deviled eggs too (total yum). Tomorrow we're doing wings on the grill. Other than this, you know filling our pieholes, we're not planning anything.

Wishing all a safe socially distancing weekend. Be safe, be well.

Re: 🎇 A.M. Style Live Chat, 🎇 7:00, 7/4

@Bird mama   I understand your fear in going to Dr appts these days. I was able to make my mamo appt about 2 weeks ago. Of course being in a total Med Complex of buildings I had my mask on. Not many patients for any reason around as we all were by ourselves unless we had to have someone with. My mamo is done at The James Cancer Hosp, greeted at the door for one of their masks, sanitize hands first, onto the next greeter to take out temps. Then to register, get our name band, up to my floor. There were only 4 folks in the wait room, I sat all by myself way on the other side of the room. In/out, done. I felt okay with their practices.

Funny you mentioned your goods landing in Urbancrest, so do mine. Have we chatted about how close in prox we may be?

Anyway, take good care of yourself. All of us being pretty much home bound, don't feel badly about not being out for 2 weeks. It's really not safe out there. It's such a drag that our new norm is all covered up. I hate it, I can't put on a little lipstick when I want to - why. It's also way difficult to wear a mask, have to juggle glasses on and then try to be a little cute with earrings on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be safe, saty well friend.

@twinny70   Great to know you, DH and family are well. Your hot tub sounds refreshing. We used to have one years ago but it turned into a hassle in the winters. In the summers though they are great b/c you can turn down the temp and make them oh so refreshing. Don't forget your wine while relaxing out there!

Enjoy your quiet weekend, stay safe!

@PINKdogWOOD   I'm in SE Michigan, north of Detroit.

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise
