It depends on whether clients are in the office or not.

It's probably going to be the dresses that I posted about a few weeks ago, because the one (of two days) in office it will be part of HR and helping with onboarding.

I will also have a loooooooooooooooooong commute (but I am going to take the train) as it's in another state.  I can't really do the drive with the amount of time holding the steering wheel and my wrist injury.  I'll use the time on the train to pleasure read.

The three days a week that I'm home, I'll probably have business on top and party on the bottom, like I did with online learning, but they do specify no sleeveless in the manual.

I had to leave the show early to get ready.  There are a lot of BIG PLANS this week, my only "vacation" until Labor Day.

We ended school on Monday, June 27.  Normally, I would also work two additional days at the end for the DC hours, but I did those up front in August.

I have been busy with those pesky errands. BF is probably going to carry me on his insurance plan (better than my new plan) but we have to establish a domestic partnership first, so we have been doing documentation things like setting up a joint account.

I got a new phone two weeks ago because my phone was not holding a charge.  We spent 3 hours at Verizon on a Saturday taking care of that.  Then this week Verizon said that I had to confirm my plan or I would have to start over.  It was an endless loop of trying to sign in and it not recognizing the username or the password, so I spent an hour on the phone with them.

I notified my select students about my departure before they shut down my accounts, so I spent some time responding to them.

I also had to call my worker's comp person for authorization to go for PT with a certified hand therapist, instead of the generic PT at the WC urgent care facility.  That was a series of callbacks.  The liaison from my job was out of the office, so I'm still waiting on approval so that I can get in some hand therapy before my new job starts.

On Tuesday I had a coffee chat with someone who has a position similar to mine, and she gave me a lot of great advice about how to start and questions to ask my manager.  

On Wednesday I spent a good portion of the day on my new job's onboarding process.

On Thursday I met a coworker for sangria and tacos to catch up.  She is also a DC and was still working on Thursday.

On Friday I had to go to the BOE to resign and turn in my computer.  Then I caught up with my people on LinkedIn and Facebook to make the announcement.

On Saturday I went to see a condo in my area because my mom is thinking about moving here, so in between my resignation paperwork, my WC paperwork, and my new job, I have been working with her about selling her house and furniture, and coordinating details with my siblings.

After the condo I went over to my friend's house with three teachers to catch up, drink some vino, and relax.

Yesterday I met a coworker from MS and then there was an impromptu gathering of BF's cousins.

Today we are going to BF's mom's house for dinner.

On Tuesday I am headed to the doctor to deal with a contact dermatitis episode on both wrists from a pain relieving cream.

On Wednesday I have my cut and highlights, and dinner with my work spouse.  

I think that's it for now.  There are so many details to take care of before I start my new job since I won't have time off for awhile.  

My new job is with a boutique consulting firm (four year old start up) in which I will be responsible (new position) for training, managing who needs to know what according to what they do for the company, organizing existing trainings, creating new trainings, and perhaps researching learning management systems.  I am hoping when they see the quality of my work, the number of times per week that I'm expected to be in the office will go down.

Here's a virtual (((hug))) for all you're going through right now ... I don't know how you manage to keep all the balls in the air, but you're doing it, girlfriend ... now I feel guilty about that  AWOL comment, lol.

No worries, friend.

Sometimes there aren't a lot of people up at 7, so I checked in and there weren't a lot of responses, so I headed to two grocery stores, the showing, and the party.

Yes, there is a lot to deal with, all these niggling things after 13 years with the same employer.  I had hired two new people, so I had to inform them on Friday that I was leaving teaching.  They were devastated.  I tried to find my replacement, but there aren't a lot of people whom I would consider to be a good fit for my department.  Another teacher in my department also resigned, and my intern was not renewed, so we will have a lot of turnover.  My teacher specialist also retired, so I wanted to wait until she was finished to announce my departure, so that she wouldn't have to spend her final days frantically searching for a replacement.

I have to contend with WC, closing out one insurance for all of the maintenance things like mail order RX, allergy shots, etc. and I still don't know my work hours.  They will be 8-5 or 9-6, but I don't know if I have flexibility, like if I wanted to hand therapy at 8, could I report to work at 9 on the days that I'm home?

So your mom is going to be a reverse snowbird ... good for her, although dealing with winters in your neck of the woods will be a shock to her,  I imagine.  It'll be good for her to be near you, will it not?

Your new employer's gain will be so sad to see another teacher leave the system, and I feel badly about that.   You'll be smashing in Corporate America, however.

Perhaps.  She is working with a company to buy her house, which would leave her a bit left over to buy a condo outright.  The problem is that many of these listings have stairs, and the two "perfect" ones that I found are already pending. The one listing was only up for two days, had multiple offers and shut off offers on Sat. at 7 p.m.  She has a pre-approval letter, but the timing might be tight to get her up here.  She would have to liquidate about 65% of her stuff to get into a 2BR, 2Ba condo here.

My employer has demonstrated over thirteen years that they REALLY do not care about teachers.  This year we got a 1% COLA because they were upset about having to pay back the salary steps that they have kept us from getting since 2010 when they froze the salaries.  They wanted us to work four nights (unpaid) because they felt like they had to pay out too much.

We've been getting offers almost weekly from companies wanting to buy our house (not even on the market) for outrageous prices ... and, even if we were interested, the rental and condo prices are so prohibitive as to leave us homeless in a market that is, well, out of this world ...

@lolakimono  The reason I ended up building my house was because my last house had multiple offers on Day 2, and I sold it. However, houses & places that I had been researching online had nothing with my requirements & price range still for sale. I lost a hefty bid I made, and there didn't seem to be any prospects of a 1st floor primary en suite, 1st floor laundry room, garage, etc. Most homes around here are 2-3 stories. I saw this development with a floor plan that did have the options of 1st floor conveniences while looking online; my realtor didn't even help with it. And due to the pandemic, I chose all the decorating options via Zoom with the developer's design office rep. I never saw my new house that was almost 3,000 miles away until the day I closed and walked through.

My last house sold to a doctor in CA as an investment. I ended up having to rent my own house while my new place was being built, and I was fortunate to be able to rent it then. Even rentals were hard to come by and had waiting lists. I guess what I'm saying is that the housing market can have challenges these days, even though it has begun to slow down a bit. Your mom might need a Plan B for any interim time between her present home and a new condo.
