I have been absent for a bit, but I have a good excuse.

School ended on Monday and yesterday I resigned.

I am not retiring- about two decades shy of that!

I am headed to corporate America and my new job starts on July 11.

Good for you Ms Lola @lolakimono - or maybe I should say GREAT for YOU!!!!!!!  We all know how challenging the last few years have been for you (all educators really). You've had it rough trying your level best to just keep up, manage your world so you could attempt to manage for your young learners. Few got it, many did not. 

You deserve a break today and now finally a future of calmness. BEST to you Ms Lola!

Having a teaching background will serve you well in your new job: organization, management of people, learning new things (especially at the last minutute), etc.  I hope you will keep us updated as you start your new career.  I would be very interested in learning how things go for you as I've been thinking of retiring next year from a 35 year teaching career.
