Good morning everyone, happy to say I wasn't up at 2,4, 4:30. I did however need to set the alarm for DH who has to work today building a pergola at a retirement center. He's worked there doing tremendous upgrades on all sorts of things for the last few years (company he works for). I asked him if this gets us a good IN for when he retires, we can slide right in. He just laughed....
Anyway, this week....I have four Drs in my life and saw three of them this week. I just have to share all of my great apps and turnouts with all of you. I'll apologize now if you're reall not interested but in my small way I hope my good results esp'ly w/PCP at my physical will perhaps light even a tiny fire under you if you've been swaggering b/t cutting back on those breads & sweets, sugars.
So on Monday I saw my gyno nurse prac who is new in my life b/c my other girl is now more teaching than seeing patients. She was great, very nice, all is good there. Still kind of freaks me out that they tell us ladies of a certain age, you're good honey, we don't need to be so 'intense' at these appointment anymore. If you're 65ish or so you know what I'm saying.
Later in the morning I had my tiny boobs squeezed. Hey girls, did you know that Medicare now pays for 3D boob images? My nurse asked me if I wanted to do 3D, of course I said yes. All is good there too, they're still tiny due to (fat) wght loss and they're still dense. Keep doing monthly self checks. YES ladies we MUST always continue this practice ourselves.
Many of us here have talked about this new Medicare process by which we're supposed to do a no personal touch wellness w/them and not our PCP. Well, I had an online mychart chat with our PCP on this issue. FIrst we love this guy, he's young, keeps very up t o date w/what's up and new in the health world, loves his practice, eacy to talk to and well, easy on this eyes. He chatted back and said absolutely I'll see you. DH & I saw him Thurs morning. Again everything is great. We both have our numbers from blood work.
Many of know I'm on levothyroxine for hypo. It's SO under control now my reason for wght loss especially. We also have a friend staying w/us who has ciliac (sp?) disease ie must be gluten free. We've become pretty much GF too becasue of him. My cholesterol mostly is what I was most concerned with to see my new numbers.
HOLY TOLEDO GIRLS - what a diff a year makes with eating well. Chol has been increasing for me the last few years. What is it today? My overall went from 234 last yr to, what, wait for it - 184!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My (good) HDL has been really good for some years now, LDL (bad) been going downhill for years. HDL still over the top great and now LDL dropped from 142 to 92.
I literally cried HAPPY TEARS when I saw my numbers. SO stinking proud of myself. I have many to thank for this not short of my nurse recognizing my thyroid problem who started this, and our friend indirectly. It's so easy to eat well. And of course they all are impressed with my dog walking and working out pumping iron. You gotta toss in some working out to keep ing shape.
SO I'll stop now bragging about myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
