@Buttercups & @Bird mama.  I got the biggest smile when I saw this photo because my friend in Australia was part of making these little sweaters for the fairy penguins on Phillips Island in Victoria, Australia!

 

The Penguins were the sad victims of oil spills & the oil weighs down their feathers, makes them really cold plus gets absorbed thru their skin.

 

So the little wool sweaters kept them warm & help keep their strength up so they continue to fish & stay alive.

 

Watching waves of these gorgeous creatures come in w/the night tides to sleep in the dunes after a day of ocean fishing was one of the most amazing sights I've ever seen.

 

Thank you, buttercups, for reminding me of that amazing memory!  🐧
