Things are far from "business as usual"

Just wait as more teachers throw in the towel and parents start screaming (again) about having to stay home and teach their own children!

DD and DSIL were truly stumped last year when they had to.

@LTT1   Never really thought about what the GKs call us as that is the same as how we addressed our grandparents.  SW PA has so many German/Italian/Polish/Irish, etc  influence because of immigration to work in the mines and steel mills at one time.  Of course the older grandchildren call me Gam-Gam a lot since they watched Justin Bateman in "Horrible Bosses"!

You might have heard about the "trend" on TikTok to have these monthly viral challenges in schools.

December's challenge was school violence and threats to bomb, shoot and stab people.

I am blessed with outside duty for 35 minutes on Fridays, where I am out there with only my cell phone.  Yesterday I did ask for a walkie talkie and they found one for my duty time, but it is ridiculous that this is not standard when one is outdoors like the proverbial sitting duck.  Attendance was low.  Parents chose to keep their kids at home but for teachers we can't stay home or  we will be disciplined for a mass call out.
