This reminds me of the straight dresses that have a side panel with the strip down the center so the wearer looks more slim.  These dresses create the woman's figure by your perception (optical illusion).

I had a similar pair of jeans in the 80s from Contempo casuals. Do you know who's blouse that is? It's beautiful!

The photo is from Bloomingdale's, but I didn't find it among 8 pages of blouses.
