So - #11 - the OP does not think we should dress for our body type? Hum, interesting. Whose body type should we be dressing for?Sorry but I think it is the rudest thing you could do to wear white to a wedding. White is for the bride. I can't understand why on earth anyone would even consider doing that.
Maybe not so much any more. I occasionally watch "Say Yes to the Dress" & this past Fri night they had brides who wanted colors, like blue, & one had a print dress.
I guess the bottom line is there really aren't any rules any more, though I still think that common sense & decency have to come into play.

I disagree with many things from this list;
I would NEVER wear a white dress to a wedding
I would NEVER let my bra hang out
I hate clothing w/ sparkles/sequins (especially during the day)
Would NEVER mix animal prints (yuck!)
Would NEVER wear socks w/ open toed shoes (tasteless)
Would not wear too much jewelry- Often, I do think that less (understated and classy) is more

Afraid someone may get confused and see you in white and think you're the bride?

Why would anyone ever wear socks with open-toed shoes?

Oh, man!! Twenty rules to break!!
Do we have to take notes?!?
1. Exposing my bra would be scary (to the viewer.)
2. I never wear a belt.
3. Since I'm not an old guy in Florida, I don't see myself in socks and sandals.

As far as I'm concerned there's only one rule:
1. There are no fashion rules.
I agree, these rules are meant to be broken if it's executed right. I've seen these rules broken on a multitude of runway looks, and if done well, can really work. The problem is, most people don't execute it well, so it's better to be safe than look like a dumpy joke.

I agree with most of your points, PhilaLady1. I read the article online and thought it would be interesting to discuss, but like I said in the opening post, I don't necessarily agree with the writer.
Personally, I don't care for animal prints, and never wear even one, much less a menagerie, on my body. I totally think "less is more" and although I wear very bright colors and some dramatic pieces, my clothing is very modest.
Consider this my feeble attempt to steer the conversations away from "OMG! Logo"
This is not a feeble attempt, Lucky Lu, and I thank you for trying to divert the topic away from LOGO.
Oh and by the way, I am a bit of a rebel and break lots of those rules!

21. You don't need to wear clean underwear when you drive. The ER doctors & nurses never check.

Any woman can wear any thing if it fits her well.
