does anyone have a good idea for cord storage? i have the usual phone, gps, laptop and tablet cords, plus my dh's, too. they all look alike and i just end up with a tangled mess. is there a way to label them or something? any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

I keep all my cables/cords connected to the outlets.
So when I need to use them, they are always available.
I also have a bag that I keep the duplicates in for "travel." I wrap the cords/cables so there are no entanglements.

I use a USB charging station for that stuff and have it plugged into a surge protector strip plug.

I use "outlet" boxes, but I change them out every few years.
I like velco cable "ties". Do not pay too much money for these. They come in different lengths.

Color-code them with different colors of tape. You can also buy different kinds of labels if you really prefer a more organized system. Amazon has several options. Just enter "cord labels" in the "electronics" category.

thanks everyone. i have one of those surge protector/multi plug cords, too. i will look into the cord labels, too. i could probably just use masking tape and label with that. i just need to keep it easy.
i've been using the velcro strips for extention cords, for several years. those are great.

This a great idea to keep all cords plugged in all the time. Switch the off button so they aren't all pulling electricity.
Where are you hiding this strip with all the cords hanging off it but yet keeping it handy? Ideas?
